Layer Cake-Primitivo (Zinfandel)-Italy-2006-$10.99-I had heard about this brand with the cool

name and label but never tried it, so I wanted to see what the hype was about.  This Italian variety

version of Zinfandel was a big upfront fruit bomb, with a big candied nose.  If you want a wine that

can be enjoyed without food that has allot of taste and is cheap then this is a good one to buy.  Not

for someone who enjoys Old World style wines.  NR  CR-3.5   Good with pasta, meats, chicken.

Layer Cake-Shiraz-Australia-2008-$14.99-This wine was not as enjoyable as the Primitivo Layer

Cake, it was not bad, maybe it was too early to drink being a 2008. It did not have much of a nose,

dark fruit, alcohol was probably higher than what the label stated. Not as smooth as allot of other

Australian Shiraz’s at the same or cheaper price. NR  CR-3  Good with chicken, pasta, ribs.
