R Wines-Luchador-Shiraz-Australia-2007-$13.99-A big nose of spice and dark fruit, a bit like Kool-Aid. Dark purple and black in color. A big wine, a bit over done, but still enjoyable if you’re looking for a over the top fruit bomb, black cherry, licorice. R Wines has some of the coolest labels in the business. RP-90 WS-87 CR-3.5 Good with burgers, chicken, pasta.
Thumbprint Cellars-Westside Vineyard-Chardonnay-Russian River Valley-2007-$12.96-A very crisp nose of citrus and spice, good yellow color. Honey and pear, apple, and orange/lemon citrus. An interesting and different enjoyable Chardonnay. This is the third varietal I have reviewed for this winery, this Chard, a Pinot Noir and a Red Blend, all were very good and well valued, all with this interesting label. I have had this Chard a couple of times in the past year. with similar results. I visited their tasting room in Sonoma a few years back, worth the trip. NR CR-4-4.5 Good with seafood, salads, chicken
