La Crema-Chardonnay-Sonoma Coast-California-2007-$15.99-A crisp nose of fresh fruit, golden color. A smooth blend or orange, lemon oil and honeysuckle, with just the right amount of oak. This was one of my favorite Chards a few years back, glad I tried it again, a nice white wine. RP-90 CR-4.5 Good with seafood, chicken, pasta and salads.
Byron Vineyards And Winery-Santa Maria Valley-Chardonnay-California-2006-$19.99-A nice crisp nose of citrus, good golden color. A smooth creamy, little spice, honey favored wine. A very good Chard, second year in a row I have enjoyed this wine. WS-88 CR-4-4.5 Good with chicken, pasta, salads.
Montes S.A.-Montes Alpha-Special Cuvee-Chardonnay-D.O. Casablanca Valley-Chile-2006-$15.99-A bright citrus nose of spicy fruit, beautiful golden color. Apple, pear, fig, vanilla and a toasty oak finish, good acidity. I have found that Chile makes a great Chard, that delivers at this price level a wine that should cost twice as much. Casa Lapostolle S.A.-Cuvee Alexandre-Atalayas Vineyard-Chardonnay-Casablanca Valley- Chile-2006-$23.99-Elegant nose of vanilla and citrus, nice gold color. Very smooth, honey, butterscotch, fig, pear, toasty oak, creamy. A very enjoyable Chard, well worth the price. Casa Lapostolle is owned by the Marnier Family who make the popular French Liquor, Grand Marnier. WS-90 RP-89 CR-4.5 Great with salads, seafood, pasta.
