Schild Estate Wines-GMS-Grenache-Mataro-Shiraz-Barossa-Australia-2005-$15.99-Good nose of dark fruit.  Dark almost black color, a few years old now, this is at it’s peak, smooth, dark fruit, a very enjoyable drinking wine.  I like a GMS every now and then as a change from a straight Shiraz.         WS-86        CR-4-4.5        Good with meats, pasta.

Fetish Wines-Playmates-2005-Australia-Shiraz-Mataro-Grenache-$23.00-Was interested in seeing if the wine was better than the cool label, it was close. I like Shiraz blends a lot and this wine had a good nose, was almost purple in color, and was a smooth, enjoyable easy drinking wine. The 2006 or 2007 is probably in stores now so I will give them a try.          NR          CR4          Good with chicken, meats, pasta.

Jonathan Maltus-The Colonial Estate-Envoy-GMS-Grenache-Shiraz-Mourvedre-Barossa Valley-Australia-2004-$24.99-A earthy, meaty dark fruit nose.  Ruby red in color.  An interesting mix of cherry, meat, soil, smooth due to its bottle age.  I enjoy a GMS not and then, this one was different in not a great way, I trended towards Wine Spectators rating of this wine.            RP-91       WS-83     CR-3.5       Good  with meat, pasta.

Linne Calodo Cellars-Problem Child-Zinfandel-Syrah-Mourvedre-Paso Robles-California-2006-$48.00-A spicy nose of dark fruit and brush.  Very dark ruby in color.  Plum, raspberry,  pepper, lush and smooth, need to decant for one hour.  Linne Calodo is making some of the best Zin and Syrah based blends of any winery, hard to get unless you are on their wine club list, expensive but worth it for a treat.  If you are ever visiting the central coast area in California make sure you stop at their winery tasting room.         WS-95       RP-91       CR-4.5      Good with steak, chicken, pasta.
