Michael and David Phillips-Earthquake-Zinfandel-Graton-California-2006-$18.99-WOW, big dark fruit nose, very dark in color.  A powerful but smooth Zin, which gives you the punch that some $30-35 Zins don’t deliver.   Drinkable now but would still be good in 3 years if cellared.  Very cool label.             WS-82       CR-4-4.5       Good with burgers, chicken, pasta.

Rusina Wines-DCV-Zinfandel-Dry Creek Valley-Sonoma County-California-2006-$19.98-A nice nose of berry and light spice, a deep ruby color.  A smooth enjoyable Zin, berry, spice and just the right tannins, very good.           WS-90       CR-4.5      Good with chicken, pasta and seafood.

Four Vines-The Sophisticate-Zinfandel-Sonoma County-California-2006-$21.00-I really enjoy a good Zinfandel and I got to visit Four Vines Winery when I was on a wine trip in the Central Coast area of California.  Four Vines is one of the top upcoming wineries whose wines have had very high ratings.  They make 6 different Zinfandels and also Syrah and Chardonnay.  This wine has a great fruit forward nose, is big, BIG and rich with complex favors and a smooth elegant mouth feel.  If you like Zinfandel, I highly recommend it.         WS-92      CR-4.5      Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Four Vines Winery-Amador County-The Maverick-Zinfandel-Paso Robles-California-2007- $18.35-A big spicy nose of dark fruit, dark in color.  A smooth zesty Zin, blackberry, blueberry, and licorice.  This winery delivers with all it’s Zins, visit their tasting room in California’s Central Coast region, beautiful scenery.          WS-89         CR-4-4.5         Good with steak, pasta, chicken.

Macchia Wines-Adventurous-Zinfandel-Linsteadt Vineyard-Amador County-California-2006- $24.99-Big dark spicy fruit nose. Very dark color.  A bold smooth wine considering the 16.1% alcohol,  very good dark fruit, spicy blackberries, chocolate.  A very good big Zin, was great at a football tailgate.         NR      CR-4-4.5      Good with steak, pasta, chicken.

Seghesio Family Vineyards-Old Vine-Zinfandel-Sonoma County-California-2006-$19.99-A nice spicy fruit nose. Good vibrant garnet color.  A spicy jammy, cherries and blackberries, good tannins.  A very enjoying well priced Zin.         WS-91      CR-4-4.5       Good with chicken, pasta, salads.
