2019 Sonoma Coast Rosé of Pinot Noir

In 2019 the Sonoma Coast offered us another opportunity to produce a standout Rosé of Pinot Noir.
The Harvest
The 2019 Rose of Pinot Noir was harvested at night at a cool 21° Brix and was immediately whole cluster pressed. This delicate and elegant Rose was fermented in a combination of neutral French Oak barrels and stainless steel. The result is a balanced, bone dry wine with racy acidity and 12.6% alcohol.
The Vineyards
Differing from recent vintages, this wine was produced using only fruit grown on the Sonoma Coast: 58% Green Valley, and 42% Sebastopol Hills. The Hervey Vineyard is family owned & operated in the Green Valley AVA and the fruit from this site is the heartbeat of our Rose each year. Ramondo, a small vineyard located in the Sebastopol Hills, affords us an opportunity to work with several different Pinot Noir clones grown in Gold Ridge soil, invoking complexity in both aroma and flavor.
The Profile
This wine is generous, with aromas of nectarine, red grapefruit, honey suckle and citrus blossom. With a firm natural acid profile, the palate is driven by juicy, succulent fruits, backed by a strong mineral presence. Orange sorbet and tangerine oil finish in what is a tantalizing palate overall.
