Greetings,
Thank you for your concern about us amidst the ongoing wildfires impacting Napa Valley.
Basically, the Biale winery is ok. Being located in the middle of the Oak Knoll District on Big Ranch Road near the Napa River, threats of fire here are less critical than those in the more rural areas. The winery power is back on, our server is working now, post-harvest cellar work has resumed, and we are getting back to normal operations.
Our employees and homes are safe for now, some on the edges and above the valley are evacuated. We don’t know yet the extent of the damage to wineries and vineyards around us caused by the fires, but we do know that the Napa Valley community, as expected, is pulling together. Napa Valley area emergency services are performing heroically and admirably.
Harvest was 95% complete before the fires started and we are hearing encouraging reports that our vineyards in Napa and Sonoma are mainly in good shape so far.
With the fires still in progress, we will be continuing to watch developments closely and helping employees, growers, fellow wineries, and residents where needed.
Visiting Napa Valley is discouraged at this time because of emergency services and evacuation activities but we would love to see you when the crisis has subsided. As always, please contact us in advance for an appointment before visiting.
