Sine Qua Non Update

Dear Wine Lover~
It may well sound more than a tad whimsical or even downright phony, but there is hardly anything we do at our winery that we don’t enjoy doing. Maybe not every day or every moment of the day, but for the most part we love what we get to do.
The one thing we absolutely do NOT like, however, is to send this here note. A note that puts us into the unpleasant position of having to say we can’t offer you wine quite yet.
Obviously (hopefully it is obvious) we would much rather sell our labor of love than say "we can’t." A few (luckily not too many) take this correspondence as a taunt of sorts or some kind of off-the-wall type of self-aggrandizing game. That’s a shame because we mean it as a service first and foremost. We have been wine lovers, wine drinkers, wine appreciators longer than winemakers. As such we have been on countless mailing lists. At times for lengthy periods of time. And sometimes we didn’t hear a word for years and we have always felt this to be a touch odd. So, we thought early on that even if we became fortunate enough to have more demand than supply, we would at least want to keep the delightfully interested folks on our waiting list in the loop. At least a little.
That is all the motivation from our end with a note like this.
In the end we are farmers. We get more admiration…and more money (per bundle?) than most, but we are farmers and as such we are still very much controlled by the power of Mother Nature.
So please, we beg you, know that we are just trying to stay communicative, give you some info and tell you how sorry we are we can’t send you an offer right now. But of course, we hope to change that as soon as we can.
We are offering up three wines at this time. Our 2016 White Wine named Deux Grenouilles and two Eleven Confessions Vineyard wines. That is the 2014 Grenache Testa dei Cherubini and the 2014 Syrah Capo dei Putti.
Now these last two labels/names have not even been approved yet by the TTB … the eye/mind police because Manfred is dragging with label production. So, there is an outside chance they could change. Not the wines themselves, but the labels. I don’t think so as there is nothing objectionable with them, but one never knows.
The wines — all three of them — are truly very special and so perhaps you ‘ll be able to find one at a favorite restaurant.
If for some reason wines remain unsold/available at the end of this offering cycle, we will offer them to waiting list customers in chronological order. Hopefully that means YOU. Neither one of us is exactly blessed with an abundance of patience, so we know how annoying it is to wait.

It also means that we once again want to send a warm, heartfelt, deeply touched, big THANK YOU for your interest in the first place and for sticking with us. We would love to bring you into our SQN clan and it is a promise that we trying to make that happen sooner rather than later.
Gratefully and warmly,
Elaine & Manfred Krankl
