Sine Qua Non Update

 Sine Qua Non Update

Dear Wine Lover~
When we began this whole big wine adventure of ours, we thought that it would be a nicety, a service of sorts, to also communicate with and inform the lovely people we sadly cannot offer wine to because there just isn’t enough of it. So, with every offering we also mailed an info-postcard to let EVERYONE know what is soon going to leave the stable at SINE QUA NON.
Naturally we don’t only make wine, but we are, and have been, consumers and as such we are on many mailing lists. Often times that wait to become active….to actually get an offering…can be meaningfully long and so we thought it would be good to at least know that one is not forgotten or taken for granted and to still be in the loop. Now, unbeknownst to us, the wait list — the fantastic folks trying to get our wines when the supply is not sufficient enough — has grown to such a degree that we had to switch from postcards to e-mails and I can tell you with distinct certainty that writing and sending this e-mail is the least desired activity at SQN. Unfortunately, some people interpret it as a taunt or some form of arrogant play, which it certainly is not. We just want you to know what is going on and have you know that you deserve to be informed….at a minimum.
So, we have just finished up offering three different wines — as we do every beginning of the year around this time. They are our….
…2017 White Wine and our annual Eleven Confessions Vineyard wines. They are the 2015 GRENACHE called E (yup, named after our lovely Elaine) and it’s male partner, the 2015 SYRAH we gave the name M (yes, you guessed it).
2017 didn’t exactly rain mountains of fruit on us, and 2015 was uncommonly tight. 0.92 lbs. and 0.76 lbs. per vine respectively. That makes allocations and sales even more difficult than normal. Please don’t be angry with us. Surely you can easily understand that we would much rather offer you…sell you…wine than not.
It is tough to find appropriate words to express how grateful we are that you continue to be interested in our juice, that you are sticking with us and that your love for artisanal, delicious wines has not gone away. We can’t wait to send you an offer. Please do take a moment to confirm that we have your current contact information, see below, and you may click here to update this information.
THANK YOU for being there and for being who you are. We deeply, deeply appreciate and adore you.
Warmest thoughts and a hearty cheers from —
Elaine & Manfred Krankl
