The 11th Annual Washington D.C. International Wine & Food Festival was held on February 11-14 at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center. The venue is a great spot for this festival, the wine event is held in several rooms with some food events on another floor. This year the crowd was probably kept down by the crazy amount of snow D.C. has received in the past week or so, it was enjoyable not having to be two or three deep at a booth like some events. The biggest complaint would be the lack of diversity of the wineries that were pouring their wines. The major theme was Navarra, Kingdom of flavors, wines of Spain, so allot of wines from Spain. There were some Virginia wineries, wines from the Cotes Du Rhone and Italy regions but only a few from California. Overall it is a well run event and worth attending.
