Aldo’s Vineyard Zinfandel
Planted in 1937, Aldo’s Vineyard is the flagship Zinfandel for Biale. Several times it has been the highest rated Zinfandel in the world based on the top critics and magazines. Each year, this is the most anticipated wine for long-time Biale fans and Zinfandel collectors alike. These will sellout very quickly. Order Fast! There are only 100 bottles left!
The 2011 Aldo’s Vineyard Zinfandel ($75/67.50) has bright aromas and acidity, elegant fine-grained tannins – a solid framework binding together the deep, mid-palate fruit tones of cherry liqueur, raspberry preserves, peach pit, blackberry, and subtle spice undertones of pepper, nutmeg, turmeric, clove, and allspice. The finish enthralls the palate with a spice and fruit that continues to linger for 45 seconds or more!
Stagecoach Vineyard “The Biale Block” Zinfandel
Planted in 1999 with the best Zinfandel clones on earth (Aldo’s and Old Crane), Stagecoach Vineyard is named after the famous “gentlemen” hijacker Black Bart who would rob stagecoaches near this vineyard site. Great pedigree and a great story!
The 2011 Stagecoach Vineyard Zinfandel ($50/45) shows plum, stone fruit, black cherry liqueur, pomegranate, lavender, and sagebrush notes, with a full palate and array of black and red fruit, the lean and muscular body of a dancer, and vivid aromas. This is strong, full bodied, and has a drier finish than any other Zinfandel in the 2011 line-up.
