Attended the Wine 2.0 tasting event held last week at Webster Hall In N.Y.C. It was a cool setting for a tasting event, held in a room where normally bands play, intimate and very New York ish. Many of the wineries and distributors that poured wine were small producers and there was a good mix of inexpensive, mid and high end wines to taste or order.
Some of small production wineries I was impressed with were, Faustini Wines, makes a very good Cabernet Sauvignon, www.faustiniwines.com; Think Tank Wine Company, uses Crushpad to make their wines, makes a very enjoyable Pinot Noir and Syrah, www.thinktankwine.com; Muscardini Cellars, makes some interesting Italian varieties made in Sonoma, California, www.muscardinicellars.com; Kanya Wines, also uses Crushpad to make their wines, whose Sauvignon Blanc was delicious, www.kanyawines.com; and Michael David Winery, makes several very good Syrah’s and Zinfandels and a very smooth higher end Cabernet Sauvignon, www.michaeldavidwinery.com.
