For the Second Year in a Row…

Morét-Brealynn Rosé of Pinot Noir Named Wine of the Week!

Morét’s Rosé of Pinot Noir has received a lot of outstanding press – including being called the "Best Rosé we’ve had all year" by the International Wine Review. But there’s something special about being written up in your hometown paper – especially in the wine country. Your colleagues at other wineries text you and your friends who were skeptical about you making wine call you up and say, "I always knew you’d be a success."
The Press Democrat in singling out Morét’s wine described it this way, "This striking rosé with great minerality has aromas of watermelon and raspberry that follow through to the palate. Impressive." You can read the entire article about Morét and the making of her wine here:

"At the table, the wine is every bit as food-friendly as pinot noir. You’ll enjoy it with summer’s harvest, from grilled apricots filled with fresh goat cheese to a juicy tomato pie. A BLT welcomes it alongside, as do salty cheeses such as feta, Roquefort and other blue cheeses. The wine soars with fettuccine in a simple tomato-butter sauce, and a traditional shrimp Louis is a delight when paired with the wine." Below is a reciped designed especially for the 2022 Morét-Brealynn Rosé of Pinot Noir:

Morét is down to her last 30 cases of this wine, so if you haven’t ordered or even if you have but need more, don’t miss out on this opportunity. .

The 2022 Vintage in Detail and A Way to Assure You Can Acquire These Wines!

Just a week ago we put the 2022 Clarice Pinot Noirs into bottle. To say that we are happy with how they are showing is an understatement. To say that we are saddened by the miniscule quantities is also an understatement. Yields were tiny and this means, sadly, that the only way of assuring that you be able to acquire these wines is to become a Clarice Member.
Become a 6-bottle Clarice Member now – and get a mixed 6-bottle case of the 2022 Wines shipped to you in early November. In addition, you will get invitations to exclusive Member events and discounts on any other wines you order:

Become a 12-bottle Clarice Member now – and get a mixed 12-bottle case of the 2022 Wines shipped to you in early November. In addition, you will get invitations to exclusive Member events and discounts on any other wines you order:

In the interim, we have written up an educational article about 2022 and why it is so special. We hope that you take the time to read this and, if you are so inclined, reach out to us with any thoughts or questions.

WHOLE CLUSTERS? THERE’S ALWAYS MORE TO LEARN

As you know, Clarice uses a high percentage of whole clusters in our fermentations. This is fairly unusual in the Santa Lucia Highlands, but it is something that works tremendously well for us and undoubtedly contributes to the character of our wines.
Deborah Parker Wong recently wrote an article about whole cluster fermentation in the Somm Journal, and I thought it was particularly interesting and wanted to share it with you. I’ve copied the article above – perhaps you can zoom in on it – but it is also available to read here:

Again, if you have thoughts or questions, we’d love to hear them.
