About Col d’Orcia
My father was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to acquire this unique estate in 1973, and it has now been in our family for 50 years. Col d’Orcia is one of the very first producers of Brunello di Montalcino, as well as one of the founding members of the Consorzio. Considered an icon of traditional, age-worthy Brunello di Montalcino, in recent years we have cemented our reputation as pioneers in sustainable and organic practices.
Our family has a long history in wine and spirits — mostly famous for our production of vermouth and sparkling wines since the 17th century in Piedmont, for three generations now our main focus has been fine wine production. Research and development has always been key to our success, and today meticulous research goes into clonal selection and the management of Sangiovese vineyards as a whole, in order to further enhance the quality of our wines.
