Prince of Pinot Olson Ogden Wines Update

2009 Olson Ogden Manchester Ridge Vineyard Mendocino Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., pH 3.53, TA 0.57, 148 cases. This vineyard is located in the Mendocino Ridge AVA 2000 feet above the Anderson Valley. Clones 114, 115 and 777. Aged 17 months in 50% new French oak barrels. · Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Shy aroma s of red cherries and berries with a hint of balsam and herb garden. Flavors of luscious pie cherries accented by notes of exotic tea, cola, cassis sandalwood and spice. Layers of interest with seductively soft tannins and incredible length on the exit. An interesting contrast to the Alder Springs bottling with this wine being less structured, but more fruity and flirty. Take your pick.

2009 Olson Ogden Alder Springs Vineyard Mendocino Pinot Noir

14.4% alc., pH 3.56, TA 0.53, 143 cases. This vineyard, farmed by Stu Bewley, is located an hour north of Ukiah, sitting on a mountain slope between 1700 and 2700 feet elevation. It is sustainably farmed with low yields ranging from 1.5 to 2 tons per acre. Clones are Wädenswil, 115, 459 and 777. Aged 17 months in 65% new French oak barrels. · Aromas of ripe, herb-dusted berries with particular notes of bay leaf. Discreetly concentrated core of perfectly ripened black cherries and dark red berries with an earthbound tone. A hint of wood spice adds interest. Firm, very slightly astringent tannic backbone. Memorable finish that you hate to end. Very good (+).

2008 Olson Ogden Wines Pinot Noir Manchester Ridge Vineyard Mendocino

Deep, vivid red. Cherry-vanilla and raspberry on the nose, with smoky herbal and floral qualities adding complexity. Juicy, penetrating and gently sweet on entry, then firmer in the middle, offering bitter cherry and dried red berry flavors and a hint of cracked pepper. The sappy finish features solid grip, very good persistence and linge ring florality. This should be even better with a couple more years in the cellar. 90 pts.

Take 35% off our 2009 vintage vineyard designate Pinot Noirs and 50% off of our remaining inventory of our only 2008 vintage Pinot Noir until 5/12/12 or until we run out of inventory whichever comes sooner. As always, order 6 bottles or more and ground shipping to all states except HI and AK is included in the price. No additional discounts applicable with this offer.

09 Manchester Pinot front label Olson Ogden Wines Update

2009 Olson Ogden Wines Manchester Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir
Retail Price: $55.00 Sale Price: $35.75
More new world than old world in style this is a California pinot lovers delight from a very special vineyard in Mendocino. Fruit forward in character with notes of red cherry and raspberry with a touch of spice and earth to compliment. The wine is medium bodied on the palate with a velvety texture ready to enjoy upon release. But the components are there to cellar this wine to enjoy seven to 10 years from release. 148 cases produced.

09 Alder Pinot front label Olson Ogden Wines Update

2009 Olson Ogden Wines Alder Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir
Retail Price: $65.00 Sale Price: $42.25
This is not your typical fruit forward California Pinot Noir. It is reminiscent of a more Burgundian style of wine rarely found in California. Deep in color the wine exhibits a deft balance with plenty of structure and complexity to age and evolve over the next 10 to 15 years. There are harmonious notes of black cherry plum and earthy mocha that come singing through. The wine is full on the palate with ripe tannins and a long lingering finish. 143 cases produced.

Warm Regards

Tim Olson and John Ogden
