The Contest
We’re getting ready to bottle the 2010 Rocket Science by Caldwell, so it’s time to put on your thinking caps and submit your ideas for what we’ll publish on this year’s back label. We’ve already gotten a few submissions from a few of you who just couldn’t wait (Mike)! But officially we’re accepting submissions from Monday April 9th thru Monday May 7th. Get more details and submit your entry here.

Your Inspiration
The winner of this year’s contest will see their work in print on the back labels of every Rocket Science bottle (we call it bragging rights), and will receive a case of Rocket Science for their very own. Download the PDF for an overview of the project, how it got started and the previous year’s winning labels.

Rocket Science Gives Back
Through Rocket’s philanthropic schedule this year, the 2008 label will be seen by honest-to-goodness rocket scientists and astronauts as well as space buffs and "WeINEsteins" alike. This year, Rocket Science by Caldwell will be the official wine served at the California Academy of Sciences Big Bang Gala in San Francisco, the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Awards at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the CalTech Space Challenge winemaker’s dinner and the Rocket Mavericks Payload Launch event right here in Napa (details coming soon).

Caldwell’s Proprietary red blend made from estate fruit including 47% Syrah, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 4% Tannat, 3% Petit Verdot. A voluptuous nose is dominated by black raspberry, black currant, ripe blueberry, black olive, cassis, clove and white pepper. A raspberry attack leads into a full, juicy mouth of ripe plum and cherry. The structured cocoa tannins give way to a long finish of chocolate covered strawberries.

We look forward to seeing your entries!
Over and out,
John & Joy Caldwell
