Also a monumental wine, it is not as nuanced as the CCS or the RBS, but it possesses serious minerality as well as huge notes of tobacco leaf, pain grille, spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and licorice in both the aromatic and flavor profiles. Outstanding intensity along with full-bodied power and beautifully integrated acids, tannins, alcohol, and wood suggest this 2007 should hit its peak in 5-7 years, and evolve for three decades or more." "Deep garnet-black color going brick at the rim. Alluring aromas of warm blackcurrant, eucalyptus, cloves and a sprinkling of Chinese five-spice. A dense, full bodied palate packed with emerging layers of intense dark berry, dried herb and spice flavors. It has some noticeable tannins to be resolved and is not as seamless and flawless as the monumental 2007. Nevertheless, this is a gorgeous wine to drink over the next 20+ years." (93+pts RP)
