 California Superstars

2008 Schrader Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Old Sparky (MMVIII)

1 magnum available @ $1,750

"Another candidate for perfection, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky comes from Clone 4, Clone 6 and Clone 337 although Clone 6 dominates the blend. Also a monumental wine, it is not as nuanced as the CCS or the RBS, but it possesses serious minerality as well as huge notes of tobacco leaf, pain grille, spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and licorice in both the aromatic and flavor profiles. The finish is endless in this super-intense, rich wine." (100pts RP)

 California Superstars

2007 Maybach Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Materium

1 magnum available @ $850

"The prodigious 2007 Materium exhibits an even more opaque purple color, and ratchets up the level of intensity and aromatic complexity. Blackberry, black raspberry, blueberry, and cassis aromas intermixed with notes of crushed rocks, spring flowers, and toasty new oak are found in this beauty. Outstanding intensity along with full-bodied power and beautifully integrated acids, tannins, alcohol, and wood suggest this 2007 should hit its peak in 5-7 years, and evolve for three decades or more." (99pts RP)

 California Superstars

2001 Harlan Estate

1 bottle available @ $699

"Deep garnet-black color going brick at the rim. Alluring aromas of warm blackcurrant, eucalyptus, cloves and a sprinkling of Chinese five-spice. A dense, full bodied palate packed with emerging layers of intense dark berry, dried herb and spice flavors. Crisp acidity and fine, firm tannins provide seamless structure, in balance with the concentration of flavors. Very, very long finish with some minerality coming through at the end." (100pts WA)

2002 Harlan Estate

1 bottle available @ $750

"Very deep garnet-black color with a purple rim. The nose is still a little closed giving notes of blackberry, black cherries, dark chocolate, tobacco, cigar boxes and cinnamon. The palate displays faultless structure and balance: very finely grained, firm tannins, medium to high acid and incredible intensity. Perhaps paradoxically, this wine is at once rich and full bodied yet exquisitely elegant." (100pts RP)

2004 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon

1 bottle available @ $425

"Beautifully crafted, ripe and spicy, with juicy currant and black cherry fruit that’s supple and well-defined. Plush, smooth and complex, offering depth, range of flavor, texture and length." (96pts WS)

2008 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon

1 3-pack OWC available @ $1,200

"After a perfect wine in 2007, I suppose the 2008 is something of a letdown. A hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon (800 cases), this is still an outstanding wine, with classic graphite, creme de cassis, blueberry and floral notes all well-presented in the perfumed aromatics of this full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine. It has some noticeable tannins to be resolved and is not as seamless and flawless as the monumental 2007. Nevertheless, this is a gorgeous wine to drink over the next 20+ years." (93+pts RP)

 California Superstars

2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon, Hillside Select

Signed by Doug Shafer & Elias Fernandez

1 magnum available @ $775

"It was a treat to re-taste the utterly perfect 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. A dark purple color is accompanied by a gorgeously powerful nose of pure creme de cassis, pain grille, flowers, licorice, and spice box. Full-bodied with multiple dimensions, superb purity, layers of fruit, and a blockbuster finish, it is an amazing offering." (100pts RP)

 California Superstars

2005 Hundred Acre Cabernet Sauvignon, Kayli Morgan

1 bottle available @ $200

"A beautiful bouquet of licorice, smoke, burning embers, creme de cassis, sweet black cherries, and spice box soars from the glass of this 2005. Unctuous, flamboyant, and incredibly pure, it is a superb Cabernet Sauvignon that is already strutting its remarkable potential." (98pts RP)

 California Superstars

2004 Corra Cabernet Sauvignon

3 bottles available @ $130 per bottle

"This wine exhibits a rich, creamy-textured mix of currant, herb, mineral, sage and cedary tobacco notes, keeping a tight focus and ending with a long, layered finish and firm, ripe tannins." (91pts WS)

2005 Corra Cabernet Sauvignon

3 bottles available @ $130 per bottle

"The superb, dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (a 220-case lot of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals elegant notes of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, blueberries, black currants, and a subtle hint of smoke. Noble sweet tannins are noticeable, and the wine displays a restrained use of oak (100% new French barrels were utilized), beautiful purity, a multi-dimensional texture, and a savory, long, classic finish." (94pts RP)

2006 Corra Cabernet Sauvignon

3 bottles available @ $130 per bottle

"A mix of ripe, sweetish plum, currant and black cherry fruit framed by cedary oak, mineral and firm tannins, this is rich, complex and concentrated, well-proportioned and full-bodied, ending with nice structure and length." (91pts WS)
