We introduced the CAM Collection series back in 2014 as an available-year-round alternative to the Lot program, created especially for customers that prefer to stick with a handful of familiar wines (vs the “here today, gone tomorrow” nature of the Lot program). We recognize that there are plenty of folks who just want to enjoy “old reliable.”
The core philosophy to sourcing for this project remains the same as the Lot series – offer wines at the nexus of quality and value that deliver as much bang for the buck as possible. To that regard, we think you’re going to be quite pleased with our latest and greatest CAM Collection offering.
This CAM Collection Cabernet will undoubtedly be one of our most “bought by the case” wines – an attractively priced, super drinkable workhorse that’s the very definition of an all-purpose value Cab that effortlessly suits any occasion. Showcasing a super fragrant bouquet and a ripeness that only Washington state can capture (during peak growing season WA receives two more hours of sunlight than CA wine country), this is a beautifully built, crowd-pleasing wine that punches well above its weight class whether you’re drinking it during a casual Tuesday affair or at a Saturday evening dinner party.
A beauty on the pour, one swirl awakens the nose with welcoming notes of chocolate, bell peppers, cassis, and crushed florals. Tons of structure and expertly delineated flavors abound on the palate, and the plush entry is filled with voluptuous red fruits and integrated barrel spice backed by medium+ acidity and small, firm tannins. The finish is dry and barrel-kissed, with hints of vanilla, spice, and toasted coconut umami leading to lingering waves of pressed violets. A perfect go-to Cab.
