The Hogue Cellars-Merlot-Reserve-Wahluke Slope-Washington State-2006-$21.66-A nose of black cherry and spice, dark garnet in color. A smooth, full bodied Merlot, with back cherry, currants, with Asian spices, a easy drinking wine, one of the better Merlots I have had in a while. WS-90 WE-91 CR-90 Good with meats, chicken, pasta.
Kendall-Jackson Vineyards & Winery-Vintner’s Reserve-Cabernet Sauvignon-Sonoma and Napa Counties-California-2008-$14.09-A nose of dark fruits, dark amber in color. A very dry, medium to full bodied Cab, with blackberry, cassis, plum and some toast with spice. Was disappointed after WE review, way, way too dry on the palate. WE-92 CR-87 Good with ribs, burgers, chicken.
