Layer Cake Wines-Primitivo (aka Zinfandel)-Puglia-Italy-201013.5% Alcohol-$13.99-A nose of candy land artificial juice, dark purple in color.  A medium to full bodied over the top Zin, with jammy skittles flavors, hard to tell the grapes varieties.  Was too disjointed and fake to enjoy.          WS-82          CR-82          Good down the drain, too jammy for cooking wine. 

Austin Hope Winery-Syrah-Hope Family Vineyard-Paso Robles-California-2009-13.5% Alcohol-$22.99-A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color.   A full bodied single vineyard Syrah, with blackberry, black cherry, some dusty cocoa, long spicy finish, delicious wine, a very good QPR.          RP-91          WS-91          WE-92          CR-91           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.
