Bugay Vineyards-Cabernet Sauvignon-Sonoma County-California-2003-$22.22-A nose of dark fruit and some spice, dark amber in color.  A smooth more medium bodied style Cab, black currants, some earth, chocolate and vanilla, second time tried in last couple months, liked it better this time, a enjoyable Cab.             WE-90          CR-90              Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Bugay Vineyards-Cabernet Sauvignon-Sonoma County-California-2004-$19.99-A nose of dark fruit, dark purple in color.  Black currants, blackberry, full bodied, smooth, with some earth and spice, nothing complex but good at this price level.                 NR                  CR-87                 Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Ukiah Cellars-Nelson Vineyard-Cabernet Sauvignon-Mendocino-California-2007-$11.99-A nose of dark fruit and some spice, dark amber in color.  A good mouthfeel, currants, blackberry, good finish, drinks like a $25 Cab.  Many Mendocino wines deliver very good value.                NR             CR-88      Good with chicken, pork, pasta.

Trentadue Winery-La Storia-Cabernet Sauvignon-Alexander Valley Estate-California-2006-$17.98-A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color.  A full bodied, dry Cab, blackberry, black currants, chocolate, a bit rustic but decent for the price.                  RP-86                WE-86                CR-87                    Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Relativity Vineyards-Cabernet Sauvignon-Sonoma County-California-2008-$17.98-A nose of dark fruit and cassis,  dark amber in color.  A full bodied Cab, blackberry, blueberry, cassis, smooth with a good mouth feel, great QPR.                 NR                  CR-89                  Good with steak, ribs, chicken.

Arnot-Roberts-Bugay Vineyard-Cabernet Sauvignon-Sonoma County-California-2007-$80.00-A nose of dark fruit and some smoke, a bit closed, still young, dark ruby in color.  A full bodied Cab, still early to drink, black cherry, currants, solid wine, give it a few years.             NR             CR-90              Good with steak, chicken, ribs.

Thumbprint Cellars-Schneider Vineyard-Cabernet Sauvignon-Alexander Valley-California-2006-$17.96-A nose of dark spicy fruit, deep crimson in color.  Black currants, blueberry, dusty spice, good texture and mouth feel, a full bodied Cab that drinks like a $40-50 bottle.  I visited  their tasting room in Healdsburg a few years back , worth the trip.  I have tried and reviewed their Chard, Pinot, Cab and Red Blend over the last year, all were very good, all have this interesting label.               NR             CR-90            Good with steak, chicken, pasta.

Vinifera Vineyards-Vitis-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2006-$19.99-A nose of dark fruit and cedar, dark purple in color.  A full bodied, smooth Cab, currants, blackberries,  some earth, vanilla and cedar, solid Cab.                  WE-95                CR-90                 Good with steaks, chicken, pasta

Quixote Winery-Cabernet Sauvignon-Stag’s Leap Ranch-Napa Valley-California-2001-$35.00-A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color.  A smooth, rich Cab, blackberry, currants,  some dusty earth, spice, a bit past it’s peak but a very good wine.                 WS-89               CR-90              Good with steak, chicken, pasta.

Bluerock Vineyard-Cabernet Sauvignon-Alexander Valley-California-2004-$42.99-A nose of dark fruit an earth, dark amber in color.  A smooth full bodied Cab, cassis, blueberry, herbs, with chocolate finish.  Decant for a couple hours.               WE-93               CR-89              Good with steak, chicken , pasta.

Sequoia Grove Vineyards-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2005-$29.99-A nose of dark fruit and tar, dark ruby in color.  A smooth Cab, was a little disappointed that it did not have the fullness as previous vintages that I have had.  Currants, spice, chocolate, oak is integrated, dry finish, a solid Cab just not great.           WS-83            WE-93            CR-87                 Good with steak, chicken, pasta.

Beaulieu Vineyard-Rutherford-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2006-$20.99-A nose of dark fruit, not as big as I expected, dark amber in color.  A smooth medium to full bodied Cab, currants, blackberry, cola, a good but not great red, I did not find it as great as the major critics did.          RP-90             WS-88               WE-92                CR-88           Good with steak, chicken, pasta.

Louis M. Martini Winery-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2006-$15.99-A nose of dark fruit, dark amber in color.  Blue and blackberries, licorice, some chocolate, medium to full bodied, not as bold or great as the 2005 vintage but a solid Cab.                  WS-90                CR-89            Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Cliff Lede Vineyards-Stags Leap District-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2006-$25.00-A nose of dark fruits, dark ruby in color.  A smooth, more medium bodied than most Cabs, black currants, coffee, some veggies, a solid Cab.                 RP-91                WS-92               CR-89                Good with steak, chicken, pasta.

C.S. Cellars-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2007-$21.50-A nose of dark fruit, dark purple in color.  A medium to full bodied Cab, smooth, blackberry, blueberry, spice, good tannins,  with some chocolate and spice, a good value.                NR                CR-89                  Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Melanson Vineyard-Matthew’s Block-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2005-$32.99-A nose of dark fruit, dark amber in color.   A full bodied Cab, black cherry, plum, chocolate, with some smoke, decant, could be better in a year or so.                 NR                CR-88               Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Mercer Wine Estates-M & H-Horse Heaven Hills-Cabernet Sauvignon-Washington State-2005-$23.99-A nose of dark fruit and currants, dark ruby in color.  A smooth silky, black cherry, plum, some tobacco, decanted for one hour.           WS-90            CR-87            CR-88            Good with steak, chicken, pasta.
