Carlisle Winery-Zinfandel-Carlisle Vineyard-Russian River Valley-California-2007-$34.99-A nose of bold sweet black cherry and spice, dark garnet in color.  A full bodied delicious Zin, with black cherry and smoky pepper flavors, jammy with good acidity, long finish.  A classic Zinfandel, well worth the price.           RP-93           WS-92           CR-92          Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Carlisle Winery-Zinfandel-Dry Creek Valley-California-2007-15.1% Alcohol-$29.99-A nose of bold sweet black cherry and spice, dark garnet in color.  A full bodied delicious Zin, with black cherry and smoky pepper flavors, jammy with good acidity, and a long finish.  A classic Zinfandel, well worth the price, wish I had more.           RP-90-92           WS-95           CR-93           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Ridge Vineyards-Lytton Springs-Zinfandel-Petite Sirah-Craignane-Mataro-(Mourvedre)-North Coast-California-2010-14.4% Alcohol-$31.35-A nose of bold cherries and spice, dark black garnet in color.  A full bodied Zin blend, with black cherry, blackberry, plum, some herbs, layered long spiced finish.  A very good and interesting blend.           RP-93+           WS-87           WE-84           CR-91           Good with ribs, chicken, pasta.

Orin Swift Cellars-The Prisoner-Zinfandel-Cabernet Sauvignon-Syrah-Petite Sirah-Charbono-Grenache-Napa Valley-California-2007-15.2% Alcohol-$34.99-A nose of cherry vanilla coke and spice, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied kitchen sink blend, with black cherry, blueberries, raspberries and some spice on finish.  The nose is amazing if you like rich vanilla but wine has lost it’s edge, still good but not as bold as it was a couple years ago.           RP-90           WS-92 (#47 WS Top 100 of 2009)           CR-90           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Frank Family Vineyards-Zinfandel-Napa Valley-California-2009-15.0% Alcohol-$30.99-A nose of dark cherry and spice, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied Zin, with black cherry, raspberry, some chocolate and pepper, smooth and delicious.           WS-88           WE-91           CR-91           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Valdez Family Winery-Ulises Valdez-Zinfandel-Botticelli Vineyard-Rockpile-2008-15.2% Alcohol-$24.99-A nose of black cherry and spices, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full body single vineyard Zin, with blackberry, black cherry, cherry pie jam, good control of the heat, has pepper spiced finish.           NR           CR-90           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Valdez Family Winery-Ulises-Zinfandel-Lancel Creek Vineyard-Russian River Valley-California-2008-14.5% Alcohol-$24.99-A nose of dark cherry and spice, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied Zin, with black cherry, berry jam, boysenberry, with spice and pepper on finish.           WS-91           CR-90           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Seghesio Family Vineyards-Zinfandel-Petite Sirah-Syrah-Sonoma County-California-2010-15.5% Alcohol-$17.99-A nose of cherries and spice, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied Zin, with black cherry, raspberry, licorice, with a spicy finish, easy drinking, a great value.           RP-87           WS-90           WE-93           CR-90           Good with ribs, chicken, pasta.

Hendry Ranch-Zinfandel-Block 28-Napa Valley-California-2010-15.9% Alcohol-$33.99-A nose of dark cherries and spice, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied single vineyard Zin, with blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, chocolate and smoky spices on finish, a very good Zin.           WE-90           CR-90           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Bella Vetta Vineyards-Zinfandel-Rockpile-Jack’s Cabin Vineyard-Sonoma-Napa Valley-California-2008-14.5% Alcohol-$16.99-A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark garnet in color.  A medium to full bodied single vineyard Zin, with blackberry, black cherry, Dr. Pepper, with just right amount of jam and cinnamon spice on long finish.  A very good QPR.           WE-90           CR-90           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Macchia Wines-Mischievous-Zinfandel-Old Vine-Lodi-California-2010-15.9% Alcohol-$15.70-A nose of jammy dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color.  A Full bodied full throttle Zin, with blackberry, black cherry, vanilla spice on long finish.  The alcohol is mostly held in check, good stuff.            NR           CR-91           Good with meats, chicken, pasta.
