Greetings Fisher Fans,
Fall%20Release%202011%20 %20Timeline%20Chart%20v3%202 Fisher Vineyards
As harvest this fall will mark the conclusion of our 40th growing season at Fisher Vineyards, we relished in the opportunity this summer for a brief pause at the winery to celebrate this significant milestone with family and friends who joined our journey along the way.
My sisters and I stand in awe of our parents’ pioneering vision when they established Fisher Vineyards in 1973. Incredibly, there were fewer than 40 wineries operating in Napa Valley that year (a number that has risen to over 400 today); and it would be ten years before the first AVA was created in Napa Valley (Los Carneros, in 1983)! Literally hundreds of wineries have opened over the last four decades between Napa and Sonoma; an astounding 2,000 new wineries have been established throughout California in the last decade alone. Throughout it all, we cherish that our family values have remained the same – genuine pride of craftsmanship, a deep appreciation and care for the land we steward, and lasting loyalty to our family, winery friends and collectors.
To toast our anniversary, we invited those who supported us along the way – chefs, fellow winemakers, coopers, growers, friends and neighbors – to join us at the winery and reflect on what we have accomplished. From the first vineyard stakes in the ground to our upcoming harvest, and all the great years in between, we raised our glasses to toast fond memories and celebrate. To be certain, the people we have met and the vineyards we farm have been good to us.
If the old adage is true that history often repeats itself, may we only be so lucky. We hope you will join us in toasting these last 40 years – pull a cork, raise a glass, share a story and continue the journey with us… The best is yet to come!
~ Rob Fisher

Safe Summer Shipping: Refrigerated Transit
We are pleased to again offer FedEx Cold Chain service for safe summer deliveries. This temperature-controlled service allows us to ship your wine safely throughout the warm summer months. Shipments are transported in refrigerated vehicles to strategically located refrigerated hubs across the country. From these hubs, packages leave in the early morning hours for same-day delivery prior to 10:30am.
Please note, in order for your wine to reach you in optimal condition, an adult (21 years of age or over) must be available to sign for delivery on the first morning delivery attempt (staffed business delivery addresses are strongly preferred). However, if you are unable to guarantee a signature, you may redirect your shipment to a nearby FedEx Kinko’s / FedEx Office facility near you (see instructions below). These retail facilities maintain room-temperature climate control where you may collect your shipment.
Instructions for Tracking & Redirecting
Shipments are expected to deliver prior to 10:30am on Tuesday for the west coast, Wednesday for the mid-west, and Thursday for the east coast. FedEx will email your Tracking Number on or before the Sunday preceding your delivery date. We encourage you to visit www.FedEx.com/tracking at your earliest convenience to confirm the estimated delivery date of your wine. If you cannot guarantee a signature on the estimated delivery date, select ‘Hold at FedEx Location’ under the ‘Shipment Option’ section and follow instructions, or simply call FedEx at 800.463.3339 and request to redirect your package.
If you have any questions about an existing order, future order, or scheduling ship date using our new refrigerated delivery service, please do not hesitate to contact Debra Reno at the winery (707.539.7511 x 1, or dreno@fishervineyards.com).
