Fisher Vineyards Update

The opportunity to create something, from the ground up, drew us to our rugged, yet serene winery setting on the western edge of the Mayacamas Mountains. Like those who came before us, the land inspires our journey. Since beginning in 1973, we have held the belief that the soil, sunlight and seasons of this raw site would yield distinction. Some forty years later, time has not only affirmed our instinct, but also swelled our passion and commitment to be learned caretakers and enlightened stewards of our small mountain estate, as well as our vineyards on the valley floor in Calistoga.
Working in our estate vineyards, we find a peaceful and enduring satisfaction earning our place among the rhythms of Nature. Growing wines with identity and personality comes out of walking the ground, out of knowing the capability of each vine, out of working each season from start to finish, then patiently waiting as each lot of wine expresses its natural character. It is hard work and there are trials, but we find both the efforts and results truly fulfilling.
Single vineyard wines became a distinguishing feature of Fisher Vineyards three decades ago, when we began experimenting with indigenous yeast fermentation. We learned early on that despite vintage variation and vine age, certain sites consistently produced unmistakable fruit, yielding balanced, complete wines, singular in voice and true to varietal character. We strive today to continue our meticulous care of the land, enabling our vineyards to do the talking.
Humbled by these sites, we proudly offer this spring three beloved examples of our single-vineyard, estate grown wines!
