Our 2016 Fall Pre-Release

On Tuesday, November 22nd, we will be offering a special pre-release offer of three phenomenal wines including our first Chardonnay from the Durell Vineyard, our flagship 2014 Fulcrum Anderson Valley Pinot Noir and our first Dry Rosé!  To give you a head start on deciding what you would like to order we wanted to tell you about the wines.

Fulcrum 15Chard ClrWEB Fulcrum Wines Update2015 Durell Vineyard, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
We always said that if we ever made a Chardonnay it had to be something special.  Well there is no more special a vineyard in the world for Chardonnay than Durell. The list of wineries that source from Durell is a who’s who of Chardonnay- including Kistler, Tor, Chasseur, and Patz and Hall.  This is not a shy Chardonnay.  We spared no expense barrel fermenting and aging for 11 months exclusively in the finest French oak.  The result is a deep rich Chardonnay with butterscotch, apple, pineapple and fig notes flooding the palate. With a silky texture and finish that just lasts forever. Only 175 cases made. $55.00 per bottle.

Fulcrum AndersonValley ClrWeb Fulcrum Wines Update2014 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Our hearts are in Anderson Valley so when we get a tremendous vintage like 2014 it is hard not to be proud.  Deeper and richer than the 2013, this wine has a core of dark cherry fruit.  Explosive aromas of underbush, earth and spice. We learned years ago that we had to give this wine 12 months of bottle age before release to really allow this wine to sing and sing it does.  We used only the Pommard clone from the Donnelly Creek Vineyard to craft this remarkable Pinot.  We only made 152 cases and it won’t be around for long. $58.00 per bottle.

Fulcrum 15Rose ClrWEB Fulcrum Wines Update2015 Fulcrum Lake County Dry Rosé
We have always loved dry rose from Provence, but until recently it hadn’t caught on in America.  Well it is now the hottest wine going and we have a very special bottling for you. This wine is made from Syrah and Merlot grown up in cool Lake County just above Napa Valley.  Gorgeous deep color that leads you into crisp strawberry and watermelon flavors. Great acidity and a bone dry finish.  Perfect for the holidays and then right on into next summer! $29.00 per bottle.

Recent Press

We are just receiving our first press for our 2014s and wanted to share some of the praise we have been receiving!

Wine Enthusiast

2014 Fulcrum Anderson Valley Pinot Noir This is a smooth-textured, mouth-filling wine with quietly rich aromas, ripe, welcoming fruit flavors and a soft suede texture. It’s not a showy, oaky wine but a composed and calm one. 90 PointsJ.G.  October 2016

Wine Odyssey

2014 Fulcrum Anderson Valley Pinot Noir New Jersey resident David Rossi sources Donnelly Creek vineyard fruit for his 2014 Fulcrum. The wine competes with Goldeneye for pushing the Anderson Valley envelope of new oak influence and ripe fruit character. Vanilla, coffee and blackberry aromas and flavors flow on an elegant, big body with a long, cola tasting finish.   93 points. – John Foy July 5 2016

Wine Spectator

2013 Fulcrum Landy Vineyard Petite Sirah Licorice-scented blackberry and blueberry flavors start off plush and juicy, with tannins firming on the finish. Smoke, tea and clove details linger on the finish. Drink now through 2026. 90 Points Mary Ann Worobiec November 2016

2014 Fulcrum Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Taught, angular and beautifully constructed. Flawless, excepting it needs five years to come into it’s prime. Nick Passmore, September 2016

2014 On Point Christinna’s Cuvée North Coast Pinot Noir A blend of 23% Landy Vineyard, 33% Donnelly Creek Vineyard and 44% Gap’s Crown Vineyard grapes. Aged 15 months in French oak, 19% new. Moderately light reddish purple hue in the glass. A delightful blended wine offering aromas of cherry, spice, herb field and cigar box leading to a mid weight core of Bing cherry and spice flavors backed by silky tannins. A very cozy and easy to like wine that finishes with a charge of black cherry and raisin notes. Still styling the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. 91; Outstanding Rusty Gaffney, August 2016

2014 Fulcrum Landy Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir  Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Bright scent of fresh cherries and sandalwood. Shining Bing cherry core with added flavors of cola and baking spice framed by silky tannins and lively acidity.  Oak chimes in with a bass note. Flirty in personality and quintessential Russian River Valley in character. When tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle, the wine had taken on woodsy, darker fruited and riper profile. 92; Outstanding Rusty Gaffney, August 2016

2014 Fulcrum Gap’s Crown Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir  Aged 15 months in French oak barrels, 42% new. Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. The nose is initially brooding, but fans out over time to reveal enticing aromas of darker berry jam, spice and earth.  A remarkable attack of mid weight plus black cherry, blackberry and spice flavors are flat out delicious. This wine is impeccably balanced with impressive mid palate presence and follow through into a long, masculine finish. A 60 minute wine: the bottle is sure to be gone in 60 minutes. 94; Outstanding - Rusty Gaffney, August 2016

2014 Fulcrum Brousseau Vineyard Chalone Appellation Pinot Noir Dark reddish purple hue in the glass. Earthbound aromas of boysenberry and blackberry with a hint of oil slick. Smooth on the palate, but husky in character, with mid weight plus flavors of purple and black berries. This vineyard tends to produce a highly structured wine, and the tannins are evident but supportive without being intrusive in this wine. The finish is replete with gorgeous purple fruit that seems to persist for over half a minute. 92; Outstanding- Rusty Gaffney, August 2016

2014 Fulcrum Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. This wine opens slowly in the glass to reveal aromas of cherry, spice and forest stream, and luscious flavors of dark red cherries and berries that are well-spiced. The cozy texture is mesmerizing much like a soft robe, the balance is spot on, and the finish is quite sleek. 92; Outstanding. Rusty Gaffney, August 2016

Wine & Spirits

2013 Fulcrum Landy Vineyard Petite Sirah “There’s not much petite sirah left in the Russian River Valley-pinot noir has all but taken over- and yet Sonoma vineyard guru Ulysses Valdez decided to plant some in 2004 on this warm, rocky hillside above the fogline near the border of Dry Creek valley.  The dry sunny 2013 vintage ripened the fruit to petite sirah grandeur: muscular without too much weight, dark berry flavors making way for more lifted thyme and violet scents.  The tannins have some of petite’s trademark mouth-drying gravitas, but this is relatively fine and silky- you’d do well to age it for a decade, but could also decant it now for a steak. It’s a wholesome, uniquely California red.” 93 Points: Exceptional examples of their type -Luke Sykora, July 2016

Wine Enthusiast

2013 Fulcrum Landy Vineyard Petite Sirah  “This is a relatively light-bodied and elegant version of the variety, softly approachable and enjoyable even in its youth. Leathery pepper sits atop nuanced layers of chocolate and blueberry, with a tang of sour cherry and a leanness to the finish.” 90 Points: Excellent; Highly recommended  -Virginie Boone, June 2016
