It’s our first wine release of the New Year, and we can’t think of a better way to kick off 2021 than with the long-awaited new vintage from this iconic site.
Armagh Vineyard in the Petaluma Wind Gap grows our favorite kind of wine. Wild, pure and unmistakable Syrah. This wind swept hillside has continued to improve as the vines age and while some virus amongst the vines has reduced our yield, the quality of wine is better than ever. The coastal influence, warm dry growing season and unique soils produced a gorgeous wine in 2018, with notes of blood and smoke, herbs and spices, and bright coastal fruit. Definitely ready to go and delicious now, but proven to develop elegantly with time in the cellar.
On a personal note, we’d like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support this past year. Your generosity of sending wine to friends last Spring, keeping your cellar stocked over the Summer and Fall, and concluding the year with many gifts and virtual tastings has meant that we have been able to continue doing what we are passionate about, making unadulterated wines that are delicious and soulful.
As always we offer this wine to you, our most devoted fans, first and foremost. The 2017 Armagh sold out quite quickly and interest has grown over the past year, so we hope you’ll take advantage of this offer as soon as possible to ensure your access & enjoyment.

2018 Pax Armagh Syrah 94pts
Iron, smoke, game, licorice, spice, lavender, and inky dark fruit are some of the many notes that develop in Pax’s 2018 Syrah Armagh Vineyard. Dark and brooding, the Armagh is a muscular Syrah that is going to need a few years in bottle to be at its very best. Even so, it is pretty impressive today.

2017 Pax Armagh Syrah 93pts
The 2017 Syrah Armagh Vineyard is heady and exotic from the very first taste. Super-ripe dark cherry, red plum, pomegranate, game, licorice, incense, blood orange, spice and smoke infuse the 2017 with tremendous character to match its flamboyant, unctuous personality. In the glass, the 2017 is wild, with quite a bit of stem influence from the 100% whole clusters, and yet all the elements work so well together. Bright floral and savory notes punctuate the finish.
