Siduri & Novy Barrel Tasting

Dear Siduri & Novy Friends,

Barrel Tasting is just around the corner and we are excited about two more great weekends of sharing our wines with you!  On March 6-8 and again on March 13-15 from 10am to 4pm we will be pouring a wide selection of great Siduri and Novy wines at very special prices.  We really hope that you can join us!  More information on the event is here:  http://www.wineroad.com/events/barrel_tasting/11

For those of you that can’t make it to the winery, we wanted to share some of the wine specials with you so that you can take advantage of those from the comfort of your home.

FUTURES (WE ARE TASTING THIS FROM BARREL)

2014 SIDURI LIMERICK LANE VINEYARD RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR

The Bilbro Family, owners of Limerick Lane Vineyard and Winery, are some of our closest friends.  They’d be our friends if they didn’t grow grapes or make incredible wine, but we are happy that they do both.  We’ve been long time fans of their Zinfandels and Syrah blends, and we are producing a Limerick Lane Zinfandel under the Novy label (the 2013 will be bottled in April).  So when we discovered that they grew a small amount of Pinot Noir on their property we were intrigued.  When they then offered us an opportunity to take some of those Pinot grapes and make them into a Siduri wine, we were ecstatic.

We picked the fruit on August 26 (Dianna’s birthday) and fermented the wine in 3 lots (Dijon clone destemmed, Dijon clone with 25% whole cluster, and Pommard Clone with 50% whole cluster).  Each lot was punched down by hand and fermented with RC212 yeast, and eventually pressed to barrel separately.  The final wine is the best blend of these 3 lots.

The Siduri Limerick Lane Vineyard Pinot Noir is a rich, forward Pinot Noir.  With loads of bright red and black fruits and a full and velvet-textured mid-palate, this starts off as an immediate California Pinot Noir, but on the finish the whole cluster character really kicks in, giving the wine additional levels of complexity and enough grip for us to think this wine will age well for a few years.

THIS WINE WILL BE BOTTLED IN AUGUST AND READY TO SHIP IN OCTOBER OF 2015.  This offer will expire at the end of the day on March 16.  This offer does not combine with other offers.
