It’s never a bad time to taste California wine, but California Barrel Tasting is the perfect time.
The California Barrel Tasting and Vintner’s Dinner is the cornerstone of Washington D.C.’s wine culture. This year’s event brings over 35 of the top winemakers from California and their best wines to pour at a tasting for 600-800 friends and clients of MacArthur Beverages.
Friday, May 13
Vintners Dinner
Dinner begins at 8pm with a warm welcome and an introduction by our master of ceremonies Bill Plante, CBS White House press correspondent, and long time friend of the Bassin family. Bill will introduce each of the wine makers who will give a short talk on the wine being shown.
Executive Chef Adam Tanner and his talented team will prepare incredible dishes that not only show off their culinary skills, but also their understanding of pairing the dishes with the wines.
The evening starts at 7pm with a sparkling wine reception and passed hors D’oeuvres, dinner follows at 8pm. Tickets are $350.00 per person.

California Barrel Tasting
The 31st California Barrel Tasting will feature the already legendary 2013 vintage and the equally impressive 2014 vintage.
Each year the participating wineries draw samples from barrels and ship them to DC a week before this tasting. Most are the finished blends, but some are still works in progress awaiting the final blending stage. Guests have an unparalleled opportunity to sample over 100 wines from 40 wineries. If you tried to see all of these wineries in Napa it would take you weeks!
The tasting will be held in two identical 2-1/2 hour sessions 12:30-3 pm and 6:30-9 pm and includes an incredible buffet. Tickets are $160.00 per session per person.
