Welcome!
Nantucket Island is renowned for its natural beauty, stunning architecture, cosmopolitan fare, and, of course, its 19th century role as a whaling community. From May 19-23, 2010, the world’s historic whaling capital will become the nation’s wine capital during the 14th annual Nantucket Wine Festival.
"…the Festival…has become one of the best wine events in the nation, with some of the finest global wine talent on hand every year…." (Quarterly Review of Wines, Spring 2008)
The charitable arm of the Nantucket Wine Festival, Nantucket Combined Charities, Inc., makes donations to several Nantucket nonprofit organizations . The event benefiting the Nantucket Historical Association is the Auction Dinner on Saturday, May 22nd.

What’s New in 2010?
Luminary of the Year Nantucket Wine Festival’s Luminary of the Year award recognizes an individual whose work has had a profound effect upon the landscape of wine and food. Our 3rd Annual Winner is Ming Tsai. Renowned for his fusion of old-world classicism and eastern influences, he has created a unique cuisine that is bright, fresh, and well-informed. Ming is the James Beard Award-winning chef/owner of Blue Ginger in Wellesley, MA. An Emmy Award-winner, Ming hosts and executive produces the Emmy-nominated Simply Ming. He is a master showman, as seen on his syndicated television show East Meets West. In addition, Ming is a frequent visitor to Nantucket and for many years has attended the Nantucket Wine Festival. We have come to enjoy his easy-going and informed style and his keen appreciation for the collegiality of wine and food. Although he won’t mention it, Ming has been very involved in various charities both regional and national. We can’t think of a better candidate for the Luminary of the Year Award. Ming will receive the award, the Gifford Cup, during a presentation at the Auction Dinner on Saturday, May 22.
