Robert Mondavi Winery-Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa Valley-California-2007-$16.99-A nose of dark sweet fruit, dark purple in color.  A smooth medium to full bodied Cab, blackberry, cassis, plums with some minerals in finish, a solid Cab for the price level but was missing that bit extra to make it a very good wine.                    RP-90               CR-88                   Good with meats, chicken, pasta.

Shooting Star-Jed Steele’s-Zinfandel-Lake County-California-2008-$14.99-A nose of spicy dark fruit,  dark purple in color.  A smooth, full bodied Zin, easy drinking with blackberry, briery raspberry and toasty oak, a very good QPR.                    NR                     CR-89                   Good with burgers, chicken, pasta.
