Attended Wine Enthusiast’s Taste Of The Town this past Monday night which was held at
Lincoln Center, In NYC. The Taste of The Town is WE’s biggest wine tasting event of the year.
The location was great for a wine tasting event, beautiful building, location and some of the tables
were on the terrace and since it was a nice night it was cool sipping wine looking out at the main
square of Lincoln Center. There were over 70 tables which had wines from all over the world, and
also 30 tables that had food from some of NYC’s restaurants and a couple tables showing wine
accessories. Met some fun people at the event, some newbie’s to the wine world and some old
pros. On a whole there was some very tasty food..the Lobster Bisque with Cognac in it was off the
charts, and the Frozen Hot Chocolate was yummy. As far as the wines go, I really expected that there
would be some higher end wines, but most were the middle of the road, under $20 a bottle type.
Had some wines that I have tasted before, some news ones that I liked, there was one small
production winery whose grapes came from one of Andy Beckstoffer’s famous vineyards that was
very good but at over $100 a bottle…. Overall the location and mixture of the food and wine made it
an enjoyable event, the cost was $95.00 which was reasonable for what the event delivered. If it’s
held in NYC again next year, I would recommend attending the event.
