On this special day, we indulge with friends and family by sharing in delicious food and great wines. These flavors are also highlighted in a few of our favorite pairings to have with your feast. 

In 1998, we purchased a property on the eastern hills of our estate.  The south facing slopes have sweeping views over the San Pablo bay and the San Francisco skyline – truly a special place and one of our favorite pockets of the vineyard.  Because it is so special, we wanted to plant something new and unique, so we planted three acres of Roussanne.  Not many people knew of this grape at the time, but twenty years later it has become one of our most celebrated wines. This grape was originally planted in the Rhône Valley, and when produced into wine displays a weight and body that makes it the perfect aperitif before the big meal or a fabulous accompaniment to the cornucopia of flavors on the Thanksgiving table.

Paying homage to Tony Truchard’s early plantings in 1974, our Old Block Pinot is sourced exclusively from the Pinot Noir vines that were first planted on the estate.  Do older vines really make a difference?  These vines have 44 years of surviving droughts, floods, earthquakes, and fires! Even though every year they produce a little less fruit, with each passing vintage we find greater quality and concentration.  Share this ageless classic treasure with those for which you are thankful.
